Kabele’s Brandon Christians, Cody Christians & their Dad Craig, brought in their limit of Walleyes from Big Spirit Lake today! They did catch a few in the slot, but were able to get 9 keepers! Their biggest of the day was just under 20″. What we do know is they did take Leeches & and Night Crawlers last night & were fully stocked on Cody Crawler Rigs. Make sure to take both & a few Rapala Crankbaits just in case you need a change up. No, we do not have a specific “hot spot.” Many guys off Templar today on the rockpiles at Templar Point. This is always a good spot for Small Mouth & Walleye.
For night fishing on the Northend of Big Spirit Lake best to try Rapala X-Raps Example #8, R.C. Walleye Hair Jigs 1/8 oz or 1/4oz. Try Blue/White, Black/White with a leech.
Also, try Leech & Bobber off the docks, Berkley Ripple Shad & try using the NEW VMC Neon Moon Eye Jigs!
Once the weather straightens should get back to the normal Walleye pattern as the Walleyes come in & feed in the evening as the Shiners come up & Spawn.
Panfish Bluegills & Crappies: It seemed to be a slower week & weekend due to the wind & cold temps, but managed to have a few limits cleaned in the shop the last couple days.
Bullheads: Slower today, but nice eater size at Swan Lake mile and 1/2 North of Superior, which is 7 miles East of Spirit Lake. Use small jig head & Night Crawler. Bullheads at The Grade have been slower. Fish the Southwest corner of Big Spirit Lake, leech and bobber, crawler & bobber off the docks, Little Spirit Tube. (Pictured) are bullheads that were cleaned & vacuum sealed! All of our fish look this nice ready to go!
