LEECH EDUCATION: For all of those who are questioning why we do not have leeches yet… fishing leeches come from North Dakota to Michigan. With the harsh winter we had this year, all of the places where leeches come from have either “just” had ice out or are still ice covered. This in turn, makes it impossible to trap leeches. Leeches come out of the mud when the water warms to a certain temperature. Until this happens we cannot get them. We make every attempt to get our leeches as EARLY as possible. Most years this happens in April. The last 2 yrs have been toward the end if not beginning of May because of the extra harsh winters. We SHOULD have leeches for opener & will post here the middle of the week on here. Thank you for being patient.
